Mamata Banerjee takes back Singur land from Tatas

West Bengal government has issued an ordinance to take back the land that had been earlier allocated to the country's auto major Tata Motors at Singur. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Thursday stated that through an ordinance that the government has planned to take back the land allotted to auto giant Tata Motors. Banerjee also said that she was open to any industrial initiatives for the future, be it even from the Tatas. She also stated that the state government was even ready to pay compensation to the Tatas for the land that had been taken back by them.
