Maoist ultras attacked the house of a local leader of Congress party late Wednesday night in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, killing two people including a relative of the leader. A group of around 30 rebels stormed the residential compound of Congress leader Avdesh Gautam and started firing indiscriminately. Gautam escaped, but one of his close relatives and a security guard were killed in the attack. At least, four Maoists were reported killed in the retaliatory assault by almost half a dozen security guards at the leader's house. The police have so far recovered the body of one of the attackers near a river on the outskirts of the area.
