A couple of months after PCPA leader Umakanto Mahato's death in an encounter near Lodhashuli, Maoists killed Gurucharan Mahato, a primary school teacher and a resident of Bankshole village, on Thursday. Mahato's relative said he was dragged out of the house and killed later. A Maoist poster, recovered from the site where the body was found, described Mahato as a police informer and a leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
