Mumbai gangrape: son innocent says mom

Mother of one of the five accused in the gang rape of a 22-year-old photojournalist in Mumbai said on Sunday that her son should be punished if he had committed the crime, even though she believes he could not have been a part of the heinous act. Speaking to mediapersons, Chand Bibi, mother of the fourth accused, identified as Kasim Bengali, said that she believes her son was innocent. Earlier on Sunday, the massive manhunt for the fifth accused came to an end with his arrest from the Delhi-Haryana border. Meanwhile, the third and the fourth accused in the case were produced in court and have been remanded to police custody till 30 August.
