The West Bengal government driven by 'the big sister' Mamta Banerjee completed its first year today, amid mixed reactions pouring in from all corners of the country. To supporters she is a hero who ended a generation of Communist rule, but after a series of erratic moves including the arrest of an academic who forwarded a joke email about her to his friends, critics call her an autocrat-in-the-making who has taken the shine off India's economy by blocking free market policies.
