Updated on May 13, 2010 09:43 pm IST
While addressing a conference of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi on Wednesday, home minister P Chidambaram said that the government cannot control the Maoist menace on its own and needs industrial institutions to develop the Maoist-infested backward areas and thus eliminate the problem. Chidambaram also lamented that although there are various groups, which fight for the Maoists and represent them, there are no such groups, which propagate the government's point of view.
