Devout Sikhs Amritsar set out on a pilgrimage to neighbouring Pakistan on the occasion of Baisakhi, the Sikh New Year. The three-day festival is set to begin on April 12 and the pilgrims would proceed by three trains. The pilgrims from the Sikh community would arrive at the Indo-Pak border at Wagah and proceed on the same trains for Gurdwara Panja Sahib at Hassan Abdal. About 12,000 pilgrims from across the world were expected to attend the festival.
