Queen's baton relay begins in Delhi

With Delhi all geared up for the Commonwealth Games, the Queen's baton is being taken around the city in the final lap of its long journey. The Queen's baton relay started in the city from Vijay Chowk at 7 am on Friday and first reached India Gate. Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi held the baton and walked down Rajpath, the road that connects the Presidential Palace with India Gate. Shera, the official mascot of the 19th Commonwealth Games, was also present on the occasion.
