Ramesh gives green signal to Jaitapur N-power

Just a week after clearing the Navi Mumbai airport project, Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh on Sunday gave green signal to the 9900-Mega Watt Nuclear Power Project of Jaitapur in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district, with 35 conditions and safeguards. While interacting with media, Ramesh underscored the priority of environment but simultaneously he discussed the need of commercial energy. He further added it is essential to drive the nuclear programme.
