Saving Ganga now turning into a political issue

With the purity and sanctity of river Ganga becoming a major concern, it seems to be topping the political agenda of many a political party. After the BJP in the recent past re-strengthened its vows to "Save Ganga", the Congress seemed to take credit for having brought in the Ganga Action Plan and declaring the Ganga a national river.
