Shankaracharya Swaroopanand: Women’s entry in Shani temple will increase rapes

The Shankaracharya of Dwaraka-Sharda Peeth said on Monday there will be an increase in incidents of rapes after women were allowed to worship in the inner sanctum of the Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district.

“Women entered Shani temple's inner sanctum. The women are worshipping Shani in the temple. By doing so, Shani's eyes would fall on women and this would result in an increase of rape incidents,” Swaroopanand Saraswati told ANI. He added that women have crossed a line and they will have to now face the consequences.
