Tata eyes US market, Maruti 800 to stay in India

Having conceived and introduced the ultra low-cost Nano as a peoples' car in India, Tata Motors will launch its Nano small car in the US in three years after considerably modifying it, group chairman Ratan Tata said on Tuesday. Meanwhile, setting aside all speculations, Mayanak Pareek, Marketing Head of Maruti Suzuki, speaking at a press meet at the week-long tenth India Auto Expo in New Delhi on Tuesday, confirmed that the company is not phasing out Maruti 800, the popular commoner's car since mid-1980s.
