Tea losing taste in after rise in prices of milk, sugar
With soaring prices of milk and sugar, even a basic cup of tea is getting beyond the reach of the common man in Gujarat. The hike of two rupees per litre in the price of milk is being felt in Rajkot city, which boasts of around 6,000 big and small beverage stalls. Meanwhile, domestic sugar prices nearly doubled last year as cane output in India, the world's top consumer, tumbled for two years in a row. As a result tea-stall owners have started feeling the heat with the surge in prices.
