Three security personnel injured in Maoist encounter

Three security personnel were injured in an encounter with armed Maoist rebels near the Balther hills in Gaya district of Bihar. A battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) raided a place near the hill where the Maoists had gathered to discuss strategy of the shutdown called by them today. As the battalion advanced, the armed rebels opened fire at them and even triggered a mine blast injuring three security personnel and damaging a police van. The injured CRPF personnel were immediately brought to Gaya Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
