Members of various tribal communities in Jharkhand voiced their critical views on the kidnapping of District Collector Alex Paul Menon in a broad day light by the Maoist insurgents in neighbouring Chhattisgarh. Speaking in the state capital Ranchi, one of the tribals said that the Maoists, who claimed that they represent the rights of India's tribals, had stepped off their intended path.Commenting on these developments, another tribal resident of Ranchi, Bablu Bhagat said that the Maoist insurgents had not lived up to their promise of working in the tribals' interests and actually stop those who work for development.
