Uttarakhand rains: 10 dead, many pilgrims stranded

Atleast 10 people are feared dead in Uttarakhand after incessant rains lashed the hilly region, causing landslide. Landslides were reported from over 12 places on the Dehradun-Yamnotri, the Rishikesh-Gangotri, the Rishikesh-Badrinath and the Rishikesh-Kedarnath National Highway. Thousands of pilgrims headed for the Himalayan shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri, in the state were also stranded as the routes were closed due to landslips at various points including Piapalmandi, Baraki and Nalupani.
