Vegetable prices hit the roof in Mumbai
Updated on Jul 01, 2010 10:15 pm IST
After confronting heavy rains, now its time for Mumbaikars to be hassled with the spiralling price of vegetables due to meager supplies. Owing to unceasing rains in the city, the supplies of vegetables in the markets have dwindled severely. The city witnessed heavy rains in the last 15 days, which not only obstructed transport links, but also spoilt the produce, causing a sharp hike in prices by as much as 20 percent. Problems have compounded for the residents of Mumbai as along with vegetables, prices of other edibles such as milk have also skyrocketed.
