W Bengal Govt assures security to Tata Motors

West Bengal's Home Secretary, Ashok Mohan Chakraborty, has assured the TATA Motor's management of providing adequate security for the company's small car plant in Singur. Tata Motors plans to launch world's cheapest car, Nano, from its factory in Singur. The plant, which is being set up in the area since January 2007, has been bogged by violent clashes, as villagers claim that they have been forced off their land or have been inadequately compensated.
