Farmers in Nagaland are all geared up to diversify into commercial cultivation of Naga King Chilli, the world's hottest chilli. This comes after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the states government, Indian Tobacco Company Ltd (ITC) and Spices Board of India was signed recently. The state has also started the process to secure Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the chilli, to protect it from outside encroachment.
