Iran has built one of the Middle East’s largest and most diverse missile and drone arsenals despite decades of sanctions, according to defense analysts. The country fields a wide range of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and long-range drones capable of striking targets across the region. While analysts say Iran does not currently possess an operational missile capable of reaching the U.S. mainland, Tehran continues advancing longer-range technologies through its space-launch programs. Recent conflicts have renewed attention on Iran’s growing missile capabilities, including systems such as the Sejjil, Khorramshahr and Shahed-series drones, which remain central to the country’s deterrence and regional military strategy.
