A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck the Campi Flegrei volcanic area near Naples, Italy, on Friday (July 31), damaging buildings, disrupting transport services and triggering power outages across parts of the region.
Dramatic footage from the city of Pozzuoli showed a parked car crushed by falling rubble outside a building following the quake. According to Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the earthquake struck at 7:46 p.m. local time with its epicentre in the Campi Flegrei area, at a shallow depth of around 3 kilometres.
