Ki & Ka review: Kareena-Arjun film is unconventional but that’s about it
R. Balki's gender bender, role reversal, semi-comic drama called Ki and Ka is actually an attempt at breaking gender stereotypes in society. Arjun Kapoor plays Delhi-based Kabir Bansal who wants to be like his mother because he believes being a housewife is nothing short of being an artist. One day, he meets a rising corporate star, Kia, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan and ends up marrying her. The movie has noble intentions but it mostly remains a stereotypical melodrama where notions like 'women can't be ambitious' or 'men can't cook at home' remain the highlight. But, if you arent doing much on a Friday night, binge on Ki and Ka and educate yourself on the new wave of socially vocal films.
