Netanyahu said the alleged Iranian threat was one reason his family required continued security protection, as questions remained over the circumstances surrounding the claim. Reports said Israeli security officials had been aware of the alleged threat for months before Netanyahu publicly disclosed it. Netanyahu has two sons, Yair and Avner, but he did not identify which one was allegedly targeted.
