Afghan Crisis: Jaishankar to chair UNSC briefing; India-UN launch tech platform

- After chairing UNSC debate on ‘tech & peacekeeping, EAM Jaishankar set to lead a counter-terrorism meet. The UNSC briefing on counter-terrorism will discuss situation in Afghanistan. India is currently the president of the United Nations Security Council. Jaishankar launched ‘unite aware’ a tech platform aimed at providing terrain-related info. The platform was in collaboration with the United Nations for peacekeeping missions. Jaishankar also highlighted India’s donation of 2 lakh covid vaccines for peacekeeping missions. "India is supporting the UN in the rollout of an unite aware platform across select peacekeeping missions. India provided 2 lakh doses of Covid vaccines for UN peacekeeping personnel. Council has adopted a resolution on accountability of crimes against un peacekeepers," he said.
