Amid tiff with Twitter, Ravi Shankar Prasad warns social media platforms

- As several Union Ministers have made their displeasure with Twitter public and even backed made-in-India app Koo, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a scathing attack on global social media platforms. Prasad said that the government has a lot of respect for social media platforms, they will take action if any social media site does not follow the laws of the land in India. He said compared the role played by the social media platforms in the violence in the US Capitol and the Red Fort and alleged that that this double standard would not be appreciated.
