‘Bid to undermine elected govt, make L-G supreme’: AAP Vs BJP over NCT bill

- The Central government and the Delhi government are at loggerheads yet again. This time the point of contention is the NCT bill which was presented by MoS Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy in the Lok Sabha. AAP MPs protested in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament alleging that the Centre is trying to undermine the elected government of Delhi by giving primacy to the L-G. ‘The Central government is wary of the rising popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party’s rising popularity. They are not even respecting the order of the constitution bench of the Supreme Court,’ party MP Sanjay Singh alleged. So what are the provisions of the bill and why is the AAP up in arms against it?
