Biden backs India after Jaishankar rallies for UNSC permanent seat | Watch

• In a major win for External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s efforts as he rallied behind a permanent seat for India at the UN Security Council, now U.S President Joe Biden has publicly backed India’s bid. Addressing the UN General Assembly, Biden made it clear that there is a need to reform and expand the UNSC. White House later issued a statement saying that Biden has historically supported India, Germany among others for a permanent seat at the UNSC. This also comes hours after S Jaishankar explained why it is important for India to be at the UNSC during an interaction at Columbia University in New York. Watch this video for more details.
