Bihar RJD chief sparks row after comparing RSS with Taliban, draws BJP's ire

• Bihar RJD president Jagdanand Singh sparked controversy by comparing RSS with the Taliban. Singh was addressing RJD members at the state headquarters. The RJD leader went on to accuse the Sangh of spreading communal hatred in society. “Taliban is not just a name but a culture in Afghanistan. People like them are also in India. The RSS is the Taliban of India. They chop off the beards of people and beat those who sell bangles,” he said. Reacting to it, senior BJP leader Sushil Modi said that the state RJD chief has lost his mental balance. Jagdanand Singh is considered to be a confidante of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. The state RJD chief’s remark is likely to raise the temperatures in Bihar political arena.
