CBI takeover Birbhum killings probe on Calcutta HC directions

• Amid the row over Birbhum violence, BJP on Friday welcomed the Calcutta High Court's order directing a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry in the case. BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government had formed the SIT to suppress the truth. As many as eight people were burnt to death in the Rampurhat area of West Bengal's Birbhum on Tuesday after a mob allegedly set houses on fire following the killing of Trinamool Congress leader Bhadu Sheikh.
