‘Failure of constitutional machinery’: Fadnavis on vacant Assembly speaker post

• Maharashtra’s Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis spoke on the vacant post of State Assembly Speaker. Fadnavis said that the situation is equivalent to “failure of constitutional machinery”. The post fell vacant after Nana Patole resigned on February 4 and later joined as Congress Chief for Maharashtra. On Thursday, BJP’s Sudhir Mungantiwar also pointed out the delay in electing the Speaker. Sudhar demanded that the Chair announce a schedule to election the Speaker.
