Hijab vs right-wing: Bid to recite 'Hanuman Chalisa' at Taj Mahal foiled

• At a time when the Hijab row in Karnataka is continuing to simmer, and its waves spreading beyond the state, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists were detained after they attempted to enter the Taj Mahal premises to recite the Hanuman Chalisa. The incident happened on Tuesday and according to the group, the programme was designed as a counter protest to the Karnataka hijab row. The police proactively stopped the protesters from entering Taj Mahal. This is not the first time right wing groups have tried to hold 'Hanuman Chalisa' and other prayers inside the Taj Mahal. In October 2020, four members of Hindu Jagran Manch had entered the Taj complex to 'offer prayers' to Lord Shiva. Watch this video for more.
