Joshimath is sinking and that too rapidly. According to latest satellite images released by ISRO, the land has rapidly sunk by 5.4 cm in just a matter of 12 days. The rapid shifting of soil occurred in central Joshimath, around an Army Helipad and a temple. The 'sinking' temple town, is on the verge of a mega disaster with cracks appearing in buildings and roads. Some 4,000 people have been moved to relief camps after a satellite survey.
