Modi govt demarches Canada over planned 'Khalistan Referendum' next month

- India has served a demarche to the Canadian govt this week over the so-called Khalistani referendum to be held on November 6 in Ontario. The Modi govt has asked the Trudeau govt to stop the referendum, saying that it challenges the territorial integrity and sovereignty of India. This will be the second so-called Khalistani referendum called by the radical group Sikhs For Justice. The first referendum was held in the city of Brampton on September 18.
