Modi govt orders probe into three mid-air engine failures in two months - report

  • Back-to-back mid-air scares have shocked the flyers in India. In the last 2 months, 3 mid-air engine shutdowns have happened. Following which the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered an investigation into these engines. The incidents happened with two Airbus SE A320neo jets, operated by Air India and a Boeing 737 Max aircraft, operated by SpiceJet. All three incidents, involved engines made by CFM, a joint venture between GE and France's Safran SA. The DGCA is now looking into what led to technical glitch in these flights.
