Mumbai airport: Luggage thrown, overcrowding, missed flights. Why chaos erupted

- Chaos erupted at Mumbai airport on Friday owing to a massive rush of people due to the festive season. According to reports, people threw luggage and Covid norms were flouted. Domestic airline IndiGo advised passengers to report to the airport early for check-in due to the heavy rush. A number of people reportedly missed their flight in all the commotion and blamed the airport authorities for poor management of the crowd that forced them to remain stuck in long queues. Passengers took to social media to vent their anger. The Mumbai airport issued a statement and said that the rush was due to festive season and other airports too witnessed similar situations.
