Indian Navy’s basic training establishment in Odisha is undergoing a transformation ahead of the arrival of the first batch of Agniveer women trainees. INS Chilka, the sprawling lakeside campus, is becoming women-friendly. According to a top admiral, INS Chilka is getting facilities that will make life easier for 600 women who are on the threshold of a naval career. Earmarking two new accommodation blocks exclusively for women, installing sanitary pad vending and disposal machines, creating a separate dining area, hiring women staff, are among the many changes.
