'Not narrow-minded': Uddhav supports NDA's Pres nominee amid tussle with BJP

• Uddhav Thackeray who is locked in a tussle with the Bharatiya Janata Party since a section of Shiv Sena MLAs rebelled bringing his government down, has announced that the Shiv Sena will support the NDA’s Presidential candidate, Droupadi Murmu. While making the announcement, Uddhav said, 'going by the present political atmosphere, I should not have backed her but we are not narrow minded.' If elected — which is all but done as the NDA has the numbers — Ms Murmu will be the first tribal woman to be the President. That matters in Maharashtra, where nearly 10 percent of the population is of Scheduled Tribes. And that's been a vote bank for the Sena.
