Over 350 Indians return via Attari-Wagah border as Pakistan eases Covid norms

• As many as 360 Indians who were stranded in Pakistan returned via the Attari-Wagah border. Around 50 No Obligation to Return to India (NORI) visa holders were also repatriated. These people were stranded in Pakistan due to Covid-19 induced restrictions. Protocol Officer (Police), Arunpal Singh said, “We got a list of 360 Indians & 50 No Obligation to Return to India visa holders. These people were stranded in Pakistan & returned via Attari-Wagah border. Some of the returnees had gone on visitor visas, while some were students.” People were seen carrying huge suitcases, bags & arranging them inside the vehicle. “I went to Pakistan to meet my maternal uncle & got stuck due to Covid restrictions. I am happy that I am going back home after almost six months,” Baramulla resident Liyaqat Ali said.
