Amid faceoff with China, for deferring its ‘spy’ ship Yuan Wang 5’s docking at Hambantota port, Sri Lanka has sparked off yet another controversy. Chinese built-Pakistani guided missile frigate PNS Taimur is set to dock near India from August 12-15. This after Colombo port allowed it permission to make a port call. The Pak warship is on its maiden voyage to Pakistan while exercising en-route with Cambodian and Malaysian navies. Sources tell HT that Sri Lanka’s nod came after the ship was denied permission to make a port call at Chattogram port by the Bangladesh government from August 7-10.
