A physical fight broke out in the Parliament premises on August 4 when a Trinamool Congress member allegedly clashed with security personnel. The MP, Arpita Ghosh had earlier been suspended for the day from the Rajya Sabha along with 5 party colleagues. The alleged altercation led to the breaking of a glass door and a security personnel getting injured. The incident led to heated scenes in the House on August 5, with the Opposition defending the MPs, claiming they were trying to enter the Chamber after adjournment to collect their belongings.
