SpiceJet's 90 pilots barred from flying Boeing 737; Here's Why

- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has barred 90 SpiceJet pilots from flying U.S made Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The aviation regulator found them not properly trained, citing issues with simulator training and asked to be re-trained properly. SpiceJet is the only Indian airline that operates Boeing 737 Max. The budget-friendly airline has said in a statement that DGCA's decision will not impact the airline's operation. Boeing 737 Max is under immense scrutiny over its software malfunction that led to the crash of Lion Air flight in 2018 and Ethiopian Airlines in 2019 causing the global grounding of Boeing 737 Max.
