U.S ‘schools’ Pakistan on managing responsible relationship with India

- US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday and urged Islamabad to better-manage ties with India. The two foreign ministers met in Washington where U.S pledged more financial aid to the flood-hit country. Blinken's comments came after India's defence and foreign ministers opposed a U.S. decision to provide a support package of about $450 million for Pakistan's fleet of U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets. EAM S Jaishankar had questioned the merit of the deal and said that Washington's ties with Islamabad had not served the "American interest". The U.S. State Department responded by saying it does not view ties with Islamabad and New Delhi in relation to one another.
