Watch: Army restores electricity in Jammu after power employees' strike

In an unprecedented move, authorities in Jammu sought army help to restore electricity as employees of J&K Power Development Department are on strike against privatisation move. The army was called after 20,000 employees went on strike and that caused massive power outages in the region. The employees of the J&K PDD are protesting government's move to privatise the grid stations. The situation is no better in Kashmir Valley which is reeling under intense cold conditions and the power outage only worsened the situation and causing massive inconvenience to locals, mostly patients.
