What India asked Sri Lanka to do regarding Tamil minority

- India called on Sri Lankan leadership to devolve more powers to the country’s Tamil minority and asked to fully implement the 13th constitutional amendment and hold provincial council elections. The matter was raised by foreign secretary Harsh Shringla during a meeting with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The meeting was held on the final day of Shringla's three-day official visit to Sri Lanka. Shringla also met PM Mahinda Rajapaksa, FM Basil Rajapaksa, foreign minister GL Peiris and others. The two sides agreed to take forward joint projects, including those under loan and grant extended by India. India, Sri Lanka also agreed to work jointly to tackle challenges posed by Covid and its economic impact.
