Putin plans 'surprise' Ukraine offensive after Bakhmut battle? Russia overhauls missile defences

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to upgrade Moscow's air and missile defences. The upgrade of the Russian capital's defences comes amid an escalating war against Ukraine. Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said that the upgrade would not only involve a change in the composition of the forces tasked with protecting the city, but also a new regiment armed with medium-range anti-missile systems. Meanwhile, Russia has been intensifying its offensive on the frontline. Heavy fighting continues in Ukraine's east with Russian troops pounding areas in Donetsk and around Bakhmut.
