Kyiv came under a rare all-day Russian aerial assault on August 27, forcing residents into metro stations as explosions and air-defence fire continued for hours. Russian jet-powered drones targeted the Ukrainian capital, with debris reported across several districts and damage to schools and a sports facility. A fire was also reported near the Valerii Lobanovskyi Stadium, while another drone fell onto a major Kyiv road after midday. Russian strikes also hit warehouses in Kyiv Oblast, reportedly injuring at least one person. The latest barrage comes amid intensifying Russia-Ukraine attacks and growing pressure on Kyiv.
