Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the Uddhav Thackeray–led MVA government delayed the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project by not providing land on time, responding to opposition question on why the corridor is still not operational. She also rejected Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s claim that Uttar Pradesh has not received high‑speed trains, saying two high‑speed corridors pass through UP and citing projects like the Delhi–Varanasi and Varanasi–Siliguri corridors. The Centre has also reiterated in an official update that the 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project is currently under execution.
