Pezeshkian rejects U.S. pressure, says nuclear program will continue amid talks

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a pointed response to Washington following two rounds of indirect nuclear talks in Geneva, insisting Tehran is not pursuing nuclear weapons while refusing to abandon its nuclear program. The remarks come amid stalled diplomatic momentum between Iran and the United States, even as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi signaled progress on potential “guiding principles” for a deal. At the same time, military tensions are rising: the U.S. is reportedly reinforcing its air presence in the region, while Iran has stepped up drills and temporary restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz.
