Trump blasts Spain over NATO defense spending, warns of tariffs, expulsion

Donald Trump has ignited a fresh storm within NATO, this time targeting Spain. While speaking to the press at the White House, Trump accused Madrid of “disrespecting” NATO by failing to meet the new 5% defense spending benchmark and warned he may impose punitive tariffs in response.
