U.S. Kills Iran-backed Al Jawari In Baghdad; Militant Leader Led 'Attacks On American Troops'

The US military launched a retaliatory strike in Baghdad, Iraq, on January 4, 2024. Mushtaq Jawad Kazim al Jawari, the leader of Harakat al Nujaba, was killed in a US strike. The Pentagon said Al Jawari was involved in planning and carrying out attacks against American personnel based in Iraq. This was the US' second air raid on militant groups in Iraq in a day. Earlier, a US strike targeted Iran-aligned Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), also known as Hashd al-Shaabi, and killed Mushtaq Talib al-Saidi.
